The Devil's Arithmetic I predict that this book will be about someone that is trying to hide from Nazi soldiers. It will then probably tell about what the Nazi's plan to do with the Jewish people. Then it may go and explain what the Jewish people have to do to survive.
I think the 'Devil's Arithmethic' is going to be about a Jewish girl gets captured by Nazi German soilders. I think she goes to a Nazi concentration camp, "Arbeit Macht Frei", and gets tortured by the soilders. One day, the girl tries to escape from the camp and unfortuneatly, she fails and gets killed by a Nazi soilder.
I think that this story will be about a boy who is Jewish and he might escape but does not get very far in his escpae. I think that this is in world war two when Hitler was in leadership. I think the boy got caught later on and gets tortured untill his death. I also think during the time he lived he wrote about his life.
PREDICTION (REVISED) I think that this book will be about a Jewish girl named Hannah who hates it when family comes over on Jewish Holidays. The reason for this is because of the fact that all her family talks about is the war. One night, after a family member tells a story about the war, she falls into a deep sleep. While she is asleep, she is reborn and takes on the life of a Jewish girl from WWII. In the form of that girl, she witnesses a couple horrific events of the war like seeing her 'father' die from gunfire. Being Jewish, she is eventually captured and taken to a concentration camp. While she is there, she sees Hitler counting the prisoners. One at a time, Hitler calls their names. Slowly, the amount of prisoners reduce. Finally, Hitler calls her name and the guards take her to a weird smelling building. She suddenly realizes what is happening but cannot react. Eventually, she dies in the gas chamber. That is when Hannah wakes up from her sleep and realizes why her family keeps talking about the war. From that, her thoughts on the war were completely changed.
After looking at the cover and reading the back of the novel I predict the story will be based on slavery. I think that Hannah gets taken away from her village by the Nazi soilders. After she is taken away by the Nazi soilders she is sent somewhere and she is forced to work as a slave. THis is my prediction to The Devil's Arithmetic novel, I hope you enjoyed it.
(REVISED) After I looked over the front picture and read the back of the novel I predicted that the story will be mainly based on slavery. I predict that Hannah will be taken away by the Nazi soilders. After they capture Hannah she will be sent to a Pollish village somewhere. Then she starts wondering ceratin things after she starts to find out the answers she is taken away by the Nazi soilders again and they put her in a concentration camp where she works as a slave. But then it was time for her to be in the gas chamber and get poisioned from the gas then die. This is what I predict the Devil's Arithmetic novel will be about, I hope you enjoyed it.
I think that the girl Hannah will be angry with what goes on everytime there is a holiday. Her famliy talking on and on about the past. One day I think that she will go to sleep and in her dream she will be transported back in time to the past that her always talks about. How horrible it is, how terrible it is, how frightening it is and when she wakes up she will know what comes up in her life. After this dream she might realize that it will happen again. Good job!! but, I think you should add comas. For example, for the third sentence, you need to add a coma between 'One day' and 'I think...'. Also, for the 4th sentence, add coma between 'when she wakes up' and 'she will know...'. Over all, you did a great job!
I think this book will be about a Jewish girl who doesn't like the Passover Seder and thinks it's boring and a waste of time. According to the back of the book, it says she is transported back in time. I predict that she sees all of what happened to the Jewish people back then. At the end of the book, I predict that because she sees what had happened to all the Jewish people back then, she will change her attitude.
- I know this book relates to Jewish people because according to the cover, it was the winner of the national Jewish book award. Also because of the star. From what I have learned, the Jewish people had to wear these stars to signify that they were Jewish.
- What intrigues me is the title. "The Devil's Arithmetic." I know that arithmetic relates to math. It means the mathematics of adding, subtracting, multiplying and division of real numbers(Real numbers include natural numbers:1,2,3 etc. Integers and whole numbers and rational and irrational numbers.) I'm sure during the book, it will explain why it has this weird title.

Maybe the story takes place in Germany in 1990.When was the story printed and where? It was printed in the US. When i first loked at the cover I saw a girls wich is probably Hannah, and I wondered... Why is she only in the cover of the book? Well, maybe she is the only one because the story is going to be about herr and her family.

I believe that in the beginning of the book, Hannah will be sent back in time to the year 1942, teleported to a Polish village. The people in the village think she’s another girl that looks a lot like her, but Jewish, and her name is Chaya. Chaya was already taken away, so everyone thought she escaped and is back to save them. However, a snitch in the area heard and alerted the Nazi’s, and the next day or so, Hannah gets abducted. The soldiers send her to a concentration camp to work. While in that camp, she meets her Grandpa Will. Hannah doesn’t know this, and makes friends with him. She and Will, try to escape the torturous camp.

And Hannah is always not liking the Jewish passover's because everyone always looks at the past. I thought that your prediction was good to what you were thinking although I did find one issue. I did notice that your prediction was very close to exactly what it said on the back of the book. The only part that I thought was unique and different from the back was that you wrote "when the Nazi's were torturing the Jewish people for no reason, and while Hannah thinks it's just a dream....." Overall good prediction although next time try not to use the back of the book so much.

Anyway, I predict that she always hates celebrating Passover and things. She is always complaining every year about it. What I think will happen is, after the celebration, she goes to sleep and has a dream about the past where the Nazi's where attacking. After she is mysteriously transported, I think that while she is in their she meets her grand mother and at that moment she is her age. After she wakes up and finds out that it was all a dream, she later then apologizes to her family telling them that she never knew that this event was so important.

New Prediction: I predict this novel will be about the beginning of the holocaust and the "Devil" is Hitler. This story is based on the amounts of people that Hitler killed day by day and how this affected the world. He counts the people that the kills and then kills himself. It is as if his life was a mission assigned to him by the original devil. When Hitler meets the devil the devil explains to him that his purpose was not to kill the people of the world but to understand that you don't have to do everything your told if don't think its right.
This is a good prediction but I highly doubt that you were able to write this after looking at the front cover of your book. Your predicting is spot on so either you are a fortune teller or you had a little more help than just the front cover of your book. Great prediction and i hope you try harder next time...
